Hildebrand and the Glow Metering Systems respect the privacy of your information and will do our utmost to ensure that it is kept private. Our objective is to comply with the UK Data Protection Act of 2018 (the "Act"), the Data Use and Access Act of 2025 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as it applies to the UK; we take all reasonable care to prevent any unauthorised access to your personal data. By “you” or “your” we mean any individual or organisation that uses one of our Glow services. Glow Metering provides applications (web sites, apps and APIs) to help businesses monitor and manage their energy consumption.

You need an account that is compatible with Glow Metering to use our service; apps which are compatible include the Connect App and any other apps on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store where Hildebrand is the developer. When your organisation first registers to join Glow Metering, we collect your company email address. This email address will only be used by ourselves to communicate with you about the Glow Metering service – we will not use it to send you any other marketing material. Your email address will not be shared by us with any third parties or partner companies without your express permission to do so.

1. The Information We Collect and How We Use It

Other than your name and company email address, the other information we store and process your meter's data which includes, but is not limited to, electricity consumption, power usage, power quality parameters, network connectivity and location data of all the Customer’s Glow Meters installed.

How We Use Your Data

Data type	How we use it
Email address	As the username which allows you to login to our applications, or to access our API's. To contact you for support related queries.
Energy consumption profile	To show you the consuption of your meters, and identify anomalies.
Network Connectivity	To help you monitor the connectivity of your devices
Location	When connected to a cellular network, we have access to the approximate location of your meters. This is used to identify issues with specific cell towers.
Company details	Company details captured as part of the Glow Metering sign up process are used to generate legal documents required for organisation set up.

2. How We Protect Your Data

Security is at the core of all our activities. Hildebrand are ISO 27001 Certified (Certificate Number 10338-ISMS-001) and are a DCC Other User as approved by the Smart Energy Code Administrator.

Security Measures:

• Consumption data is transferred to our systems encrypted using HTTPS
• Your consumption data is stored on Hildebrand's own servers within the UK
• We do not share your personal data with any external organisation
• We use reasonable endeavours to ensure that your data is not accessible by third parties with malign intent

4. Your Rights Over Your Data

You can contact us at any time and ask us to cut off your access to the service and to remove your email address from our database. You can also ask us to have your energy consumption data history removed from our database.

We retain your consumption data history to provide our customers with visibility of their consumption over time and to help us build analytic models to develop propositions that help customers manage their energy consumption more efficiently.

Currently we operate an 'implied consent' policy which means that we assume you are happy with this usage.
